Marineware held their 2019 Advanced Spray Courses last week at Carlisle Fluid Technologies, DeVilbiss as they are more commonly known. Our spray courses are designed for seasoned painters that have completed our normal spray course. We discuss topics such as Advance metallic spray techniques, metallic repairs, quick systems, new products, advanced atomization theory and we also introduced new equipment.

We are very excited to announce that Marineware have signed a distribution deal with Propspeed! Propspeed is the original propeller and running gear coating system, it was specially formulated to prevent marine growth from bonding to metal surfaces below the waterline. Unlike all antifouls Propspeed is a foul release system – meaning that organisms are unable to grip onto the surface tightly enough to stay put when the vessel is moving, rather than killing the organisms in the way that an anti foul would.

Very exciting news from across the pond as the American Magic America’s Cup Team choose Awlgrip as their official coatings supplier! The team have gone for HDT Topcoat in Flag Blue for the hull, with Griptex nonskid on the decks. We think she looks pretty cool!

Gurit have a new and simple to use all purpose epoxy resin, which provides a quick and convenient way of using one epoxy system for a wide variety of tasks. Ampro Resin System can be used for gluing, coating, laminating and filling. It has a fast and low temperature curing hardener along with an easy 3:1 mix ratio by volume. Ampro has been built on the former SP106 which has been the primary epoxy system in the marine industry for over 20 years.

At the IBEX Awards Awlgrip won the Boat Care & Maintenance category with HDT Yacht Coating. The Awlgrip team were proud to accept the award yesterday.
