Technical Sales Representative – Marineware Ltd
Marineware is a market-leading distributor of composites and coatings to the marine industry. Based in Southampton and founded in 1986, Marineware soon established itself as the sole UK distributor of Awlgrip yacht paints and a major distributor for SP Systems composites. Selling into the full spectrum of the marine trade from small projects to the largest OEMs in the country, the company has expanded its product portfolio to supply a full range of coatings and composite materials for the marine, industrial and sporting sectors.
Marineware has an exciting opportunity to join their Technical Sales team, supporting market-leading brands like Gurit, Awlgrip, International and many other specialist brands. This position will suit somebody who has great customer service skills ideally with a background in the marine coatings or composite environments.
Employment type: Full time
Location: The company is based in Southampton however the bulk of the position is field-based
The successful candidate will be expected to:
· Proactively generate new leads while managing and supporting existing customers
· Perform technical training and demonstrations with customers as required
· Work closely with both Marineware team members and suppliers
· Attend boat shows and events around the UK and occasionally overseas
Location:
· While the company is based in Southampton and visits to the office will be required, candidates from any UK Mainland location will be considered.
Requirements:
· Full UK Driving license and passport
· Self-motived, positive and organised
· Excellent people and communication skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Travelling which will include nights away
Desirable:
· Technical/Practical knowledge in the composite or coatings market
· Degree or Apprenticeship in a related field (marine/coatings/composites)
· Previous sales experience is an advantage
· Experience in the marine environment or industry
The Package:
· Training in the technical aspects of our product ranges both internally and with suppliers
· Work for a long established and successful company
· Salary dependent on experience
· Company bonus scheme
· All expenses covered with company credit card
· Company car – ICE, Hybrid or Electric
· 21 days holiday plus bank holidays and Birthday off (increasing with time served)
· Pension Scheme, Death in service and Free Health plan
