About Us
Based in Southampton, England, Marineware was founded in 1986 and has since been supplying the marine industry with coatings and composite products from some of the world’s biggest brands such as; Awlgrip, International, Gurit, Epifanes, Nautix, Durepox and Propspeed. We have been the exclusive UK Awlgrip supplier for the last 35 years, with the capability to mix all topcoat colours in-house.
We have a 6-person technical team based all over the country with a combined experience in the marine and paint industry of over 100 years. Our technical team is based nationwide and is always happy to visit and support our customers, from quoting to application and beyond.
Meet the Marineware Techincal Sales Team
After leaving school Simon completed a design and engineering apprenticeship before moving on to Yacht design at Solent University. His love of yacht racing then drew him to several jobs in the yachting and composite sectors before moving into building race yachts and high-end components for sailing and super yachts. Simon joined Marineware in the early 2000s and loves using his technical experience to assist customers in getting the best out of our products.

Chris grew up around the sea and after moving to the UK to study Yacht Manufacturing at Solent University has spent 15 years working in the boat building and race yacht repair industries. He joined Marineware in 2017 and has travelled to most parts of the country to help out our customers. Chris is now our Sales Manager with responsibilities for the sales team and marketing sides of the company.

Glen started work doing an apprenticeship in painting and refinishing and worked up to head painter and workshop manager level. In his 25 years on the tools, he has worked extensively across the marine industry both in smaller boatyards as well as fairing and painting some of the largest yachts in the world. Glen joined us in 2018 and has extensive knowledge of our products and worked with most of our clients on the East and Southeast coasts.

Rob has spent his whole life working in the marine industry, initially around the Salcombe before relocating out to the British Virgin Islands where he ran distribution across the islands for a number of brands. Rob joined Marineware after returning to the UK in 2022 and now oversees the southwest and south Wales areas as well as enjoying learning the narrow boat world of the midlands.

Haydn is a time-served traditional shipwright having built, repaired and repainted many wooden boats. After twelve years he made the move to composites working in the building and commissioning department at the RNLI. He joined us in the middle of 2023 and is enjoying the challenge of improving his knowledge of our range and working with customers for better solutions.
